MAN Diesel Engine User’s Group Goals/Objectives

The MUG has as its primary goal the increased reliability and improved performance for the MAN Model 48/60 and 32/40 diesel engines at their power plants.  The MUG was established in 2001 to identify, evaluate and resolve generic engineering, operational and maintenance issues related to MAN Model 48/60 and 32/40 diesel engines.

  1. Working as a group, the plant owners and operators are much more likely to gain the attention of the engine manufacturer in resolving significant problems,
  2. Share ideas and experience and work collectively to improve engine performance and reliability, and
  3. Support training classes to help MUG plant personnel become more knowledgeable about plant operations and maintenance.
  4. Learn about product improvements and equipment upgrades from MAN Diesel & Turbo SE and equipment suppliers and vendors.

MUG Project Manager

The Project Manager for the MUG is MPR Associates, Inc., an engineering firm located in Alexandria, Virginia USA with nearly 55 years of large reciprocating engine experience.  Our main office (See photo below) is located at 320 King Street in Alexandria, Virginia.
