Who are the MUG
members?
Independent member power
plants, original equipment manufacturer, and other industry power representatives that
exchange technical information and experiences related to the operation, maintenance, and
testing of MAN Diesel and Turbo Model 48/60 and 32/40 diesel engines with the goal of
improving plant performance and reliability.
How often does the group get
together?
The group gets together
once a year for detailed technical discussions. MUG members are in daily contact
through an internet listserv maintained by MPR Associates. The MUG listserv
currently has over 190 subscibers.
Where does the group meet?
The location of future meeting is selected by the members at a
location near one of the MUG member plants. Over the past 16 years, the MUG has met in
Bermuda, Costa Rica, Fort Lauderdale, Grand Cayman Island, Dominican Republic (twice),
Guatemala, Germany, Grand Bahama Island, Honduras, Panama (twice), Nicaragua, Suriname,
in Alexandria, Virginia and on a cruise ship having MAN 48/60 engines in the
Caribbean.

To join the group, the members will vote and decide for a
membership of the group. Items requiring a vote will be presented on an approval
or denial basis (yes/no).
How do I
access detailed member information?
You need to become a member of the MUG to access this
information.
Do I have to pay a fee
to join the group?
An annual fixed
fee is determined by two-thirds vote of the MUG Members. The annual fee is divided
based on the number of Member companies participating in the MUG.
What is the MUG Mushroom Award?
Beginning in 2007, every year during the annual MUG Technical Conference, the MUG members chose the member plant that is most deserving of the “coveted” MUG Mushroom Award. The award is presented to the member plant or individual person that kept other members in the dark about an event, technical issue or problem that others might have benefited from knowing about. The list below provides the plants and persons who have been presented the MUG Mushroom Award since 2007:
